Hi Mick, yeah I really like the 50p look, still only playing with it at the moment. The camera does ok considering it's a pretty cheap second hand machine, but it does have its quirks, but for the money I paid one can't complain - it's where you point it and having the vision that matters!

Wow! This is amazing. I have only just had my first real kingfisher encounter and you need a pair of binoculars when you watch my little video!!! You were in a hide I presume, with a powerful zoom?

Hi Kate, thanks for watching. Yes I was in a portable hide and the focal length was the photographic equivalent of about 2000mm, so pretty powerful. The light wasn't very good as the sun only gets on this perch for about an hour a day and it's a favourite hunting spot, so I'm just having to put up with what light is there. The footage could do with lightening in post which I'll have go at later. I was going out today, but the weather has been atrocious - maybe tomorrow :-) but the forecast is not good :-(
Cheers

Great video, what the fish, looks like a little dab.
What was the camera?

Hi Neil, the fish is a young Flounder - this is just a little clip from this film: http://www.vimeo.com/15487161
A shorter version of it is going out on BBC1 on 'Inside Out Southwest' early next year. It was shot on a JVC GY-HD101E in 50p mode, so it's basically shot in slomo. Cheers - Pete
