Wondering why the wild bird is not going down all the rest seem to be going down
As you can see

the fat block ,peanuts and the goldfinches favourite the Niger seed and my combo on the top of the table I know there are still getting used to realizing the ducks are not there to harm them anymore and the grass is slowly growing back when my feeders in the back garden are mostly nearly empty i am a bit confussed why the back garden ones are going down when the front garden one seems not to be going down that quickly

We see the sparrow hawk quite often, he sweeps down our little lane about 3 feet above the tarmac and turns in towards the feeders like a jet plane. Thankfully, he doesn't score very often!
Comment by Linda Penney on February 27, 2012 at 15:08 since the cold spell we just had david it's been just as busy now as you will see once i am live on wildlife whispers which hopefully will not be to long but very good point i am slowly putting shurbs in the front garden to add with places to hide and nest in hopefully
Comment by David Manifold on February 27, 2012 at 14:50 Hi Linda, could it be that your feeder is a bit exposed. By that I mean not near any shrubs or bushes that would allow the birds to flit to and from and feel safe from the dreaded Sparrow-hawk.
