In case you were wondering why I call my garden visitors my family I thought I would explain. The reason is I cannot have children so I turn that emptiness into positively helping all the wildlife in my garden.
I can encourage wildlife in my patch to stay alive and slowly help them to feel safe, to bring their own families up in the safe haven that I am slowly creating with my darling husband David.
Yesterday I caught sight of a great tit making the red nest box hole a bit bigger, that I have in the front garden. Last year we had a family of blue tits in there.
And we added 2 more nest boxes to the front garden one with a bigger hole and one with a small hole,
I have my desk top cam facing all 3 boxes and bird table, so we should see if anything happens during spring.
Knowing the ducks cannot chase the birds away or scare them anymore the birds should start returning to the front garden again, as well as the back garden which is already full on all my different feeders I have out there.
For the bird table I put an insect, suet and mealworm concoction. Then I have four feeders hanging from the four corners of the table (1 peanut feeder, 1 garden bird seed feeder, 1 block fat feeder and 1niger seed feeder). There is a dish for ground feeders and some water as well .
