Today, I found myself rising at stupid O'clock and heading up into the hills with the hope of watching something I had never witnessed before.......a Black Grouse lek! On the way, I had managed to convince myself that the chances of actually seeing a Black Grouse, let alone them lekking, was virtually impossible judging by my usual luck! One of the highlights for me, it has to be said, are those bright mornings when I can get some birding & hopefully some piccies too, all before work!! (Yep! I'm a morning person!!)

Having missed the opportunity to take some pictures in the snow a few weeks ago due to work commitments, I refused to miss out again, so I headed off to a lovely little nature reserve not too far away for the chance of (hopefully) some nice snowy birdie pics.
