Wasp Eating Fruit

A wasp eating a piece of fruit. Not sure which species. "Face" has a line and two dots.

Canon 5D + MP-E 65 macro lens and MT-24 flash. 1/200th second, F11, ISO 100.

Ed If you " View Full Size " and click enlarge you can appreciate the quality of the shot, the eyes are quite magnificent. I think the species is a " DATE or FIG "!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comment Chris - appreciated. Having studied my insect books and via Google; I suspect that this is a Vespula germanica male (drone). Facial markings can be variable in the males apparently. It's definitely not the Common Wasp (Vespula vulgaris).
