I have not seen Ear- wigs for years, just wondering if its the same for others too?
I hate to think, that they have become extinct!
Fantastic photos of the insects above though
I put this photo up on main 'photo' area but had no response and am very interested to know if anyone can identify this insect. In the photo the bug looks whitish, but in fact resembles a bunch of interlocking silver threads as you would see on a Christmas tree. These 'threads' fall off when touched and the insect itself is around the size of the top of a standard pencil or smaller. I have seen them in the winter months in north India where the plains join the Himalayan foothills at say around 1000 ft elevation and when the dew is on the ground in the mornings.Where there is one insect there are usually others around and I have found them on the ground and on the leaves of trees. Anyone have any idea on the identity ?! John.Add a Comment
