Hey guys,

I've always loved the way timelapse is done and I've seen it on many professional documentaries.

Can anyone kindly let me know how it is done?

Thanks

Myles =D

I am just about to have a go Myles! I have bought a gadget called an 'intervalometer'...(£20 on ebay!). It plugs into my camera and you simply set it to trigger your camera at whatever time space you want. I am hoping to try it out on butterflies emerging from a chrysalis.
Wow...That sounds cool. Thanks for your help Kate!

some editing programs can speed up footage, i did that with my sunset i adobe premiere

Okey...Thx Yusuf
Hi Myles, I'm giving this a go soon as well! Kate's "intervalometer" sounds like a great piece of kit but I was going to be really hi-tech and use a stop-watch and a lot of patience! ...then put the shots together as frames of video in Sony Vegas.
Haha...cool....I guess would be the cheaper option which i'm looking for...Thx James....Will have a go tommorow and see what happens. How much would you leave in between each shot?
I was going to try 1 minute intervals (2hr = 4 seconds of film, i think) then make adjustments accordingly.
okey..Thx James

You can download a trial for Sony Vegas 10.0 at the Sony website. And you can watch this video like I did which tells you how to make a timelapse on Sony Vegas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_sn2x_AKD4 or you can buy a camcorder that has a timelapse setting, hope this helps in any way.

Will have a look, thanks Juan.
No worries guys. I now use a timer from my laptop. You can set intervals between shots and choose how many shots you want to take. I edit the photos in imovie HD to make the timelapse. =D
