Some snowy scenes in Colchester, just a fortnight ago, temperatures rising to 17 celsius from Thursday 23rd February (2012)

This was the scene on Sunday 5 February at my back door.

Below - children, and adults too, enjoying their time in the snow

it's very springlike here, Jason :-)

Our trees (ha-ha! , Yes we have planted some in our garden) and rose bushes have been showing very precocious signs of buds... Mild days reigns here in Shetland. Our garden birds - mostly starlings, sparrows and blackbirds, with the elusive Robin - have intensified chirping for advertising their presence and re-claiming territory. t is still very early yet, but so far, maritime temperatures reign supreme.

We have now had snow for a week, with more last night, but thawing again now, plenty of birds have been in feeding, so kept busy putting out food and changing water. Badgers and Muntjacs have still visited each night at sometime, thanks to Trail Camera can see if and when they come in. Blue Tit has been keeping close eye on her box where she roosts each night. Soon be Spring !
