Canon eos 550D or Canon eos 60D

Hi Myles,

Thanks for the comment on the Meerkat photo. I have a Canon 550d, and I love it! I have'nt done an awful lot of video with it, but I am impressed with the quality. I find it really user friendly, but then again I've always had either Canon or Nikon SLRs, when I worked in a camera shop, a few years ago now admittedly, I had the chance to use lots of different cameras, and seemed to find those two the best, though if I had to be pushed, I'd go for a Canon every time, its all personal preference really.

Thats one I took at Dartmoor zoo, with Jon Kirkham, one day in February, which was grey and rainy! (Great day out though) It'll give you an idea of what the Canon can do, it's not very good, but i'm still getting to grips with the video!!

I'm using a 550d at the moment, and very pleased with the quality. The 60d has the rotating screen though, which i can see being very useful for those low/high angle shots, which are essential for a varied shoot.

Okey, thanks thomas. I already bought the eos 550D because it is much cheaper than the 60D.

Its still very new, so haven't got round to testing the video function.

Thats great news mate, when you've figured all the bits out, you can tell me how to work mine! What lens did you get? Looking forward to seeing the results :)

Haha! The lens I'll be getting is probably a tamron 70-300mm or the canon 75- 300mm. Their not the best lenses but I'm on a budget and their prices are just within it.

I should imagine either should be fine Myles, I'd go for the Canon for preference, I use the 55-250 most of the time, it's not marvellous but it'll do for the moment! Hope you enjoy the camera!
