So it's going to be broadcasted on BBCHD, as well as BBC2. It's going to be epic and fantastic in High Definition, exciting!

I have loved and watched Springwatch when it very first formed/started. I've grew up watching the series, I'm 20 years old in a couple of months.

I miss Bill Oddie, I think he is great...but we wont go into that, as we know there can be anger on both sides, those who love and dislike him.

I am happy they're doing a few sets of programmes/episodes before the live show/this years series kicks off, just to get us in the mood...who is already in the mood?! I AM! Ha ha.

I look forward to seeing the familiar loved faces of Springwatch; Kate, Simon, Gordon, Chris and Martin and of course some of the usual Wildlife faces too and maybe even some new ones I imagine.

Won't be long now Adam!
Did you know that Simon King is going to be based in sunny Dorset... which is brilliant news for us locals, as it will really showcase what a brilliant county it is. Looking forward to some great footage from Simon.

Unfortunately I can't tell you where Simon is going to be based (it's a secret :) - as he will end up with a load of SK groupies following him around - and that won't make it very easy to film! I'm also hoping that he does some filming with Hugh Miles (I've heard a rumour and I really hope it's true!).

I'm in the USA for the first week of SW this year... so looking forward to it when I get back (as I can't even watch any of the videos on the SW website from the US)

I've also set up a SW page on our Dorset Wildlife Trust website at http://www.dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk/springwatch-2010.html

Cheers. Jane
I'm lucky enough to live a couple of miles away from Pensthorpe (also a member so get free access!) and I am on holiday for the second week so will be making my way over there during my holiday!!

There's also going to be some extra "red button" programmes as well, a pub quiz and also one that will look at the photos that people have posted on flickr. So if you want to post some of your photos go to this link http://www.flickr.com/groups/1051403@N21/?added=3

Really looking forward to their last year at Pensthorpe, I'm sure it will be as good as previous years.
Jane,
I'm a huge fan of Hugh Miles — not only for what he has achieved in pure wildlife filming, but also his work on angling series such as A Passion for Angling and Catching the Impossible. If the rumour is true, what will they be up to together in Dorset...big cats?
I'll need to clear the Sky Plus box in readiness for SW (oh, and get in a nice bottle of malt).
Totally agree Patrick. I greatly admire Hugh Mile's work. I went to see him give a talk about the Catching the Impossible series (I can't believe this series hasn't been shown on TV yet it's stunning!) and it was really interesting to hear how he managed to get the underwater shots.

I'm not sure what he might be filming - but I heard rumour that he was doing some filming for Springwatch (and as I've heard Simon King call him his "mentor" and he lives in Dorset I thought he might be doing some filming with Simon). Can't wait to see it...

Cheers. Jane
I see Sprinwatch/Autumnwatch are going to have a new website.
Where does it say that... I'd be interested to know more. Cheers. Jane
This is a good link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/springwatch/2010/05/springwatch_2010_sta... -- it's to the Springwatch blog talking about the programme etc... :-)

Nothing on there about a new website though... wonder where Stuart got that info... ??
Hi Jane.

If you look at the main page of this group you'll see the latest blog post which talks about the Nature UK website.
That's a good idea. Will save them a lot of time - and allow them to use it throughout the year. Look forward to seeing it.
I wonder if I should contact the BBC and ask them if they will start a new show - "Year Watch". Wouldnt it be great to have a show like this on all the time :) I miss Bill, but Chris is doing a great job - and his "geek" side just makes me laugh.
