Simon and I are planning to build up a selection of LIVE wildlife cameras from all over the world. Some will be set up and controlled by the Wildlife Whisperer team and others may be from Wildlife Whisperer members (email me if you are interested in your wildlife live cam featuring on our website).
We have several ideas for subjects for the live cams (e.g. nest box cam, bird feeder cams, badger cam etc.) but we would like to hear some of your ideas and suggestions too.
What wildlife would you like to see on a live cam? Try and think of something new, interesting and not necessarily attempted before and we'll do our best to set them up
Over to you guys....

Permalink Reply by Colin on February 12, 2011 at 13:54 Hi, I only really joined this forum because I saw this thread and I had something to add. I want to suggest our Wild Boar and I know that they are pretty localised and most people don't get to see them but their range is spreading very quickly and they are going to be a part of our natural wild life. whether we like it or not.
I own an amenity woodland (small) in the heart of the East Sussex Boar community and I watch them. There is something about these animals. They are very powerful and they can kill you! That makes them exciting. To be fair they have only ever killed people who were prodding them with pointy sticks and that happened a long time ago. I have had many encounters with the Boar, including large solitary males and I think that they have the disposition of Deer. They are not very dangerous. I have been surrounded by them at night without the benefit of a torch.
They obviously have an impact and I have heard of angry neighbours whose lawns have been dug up.
Last year I watched the piglets grow up. There was a lot of them. The Boar are expanding their numbers very quickly.
Honestly, meet this fellow in the pitch black of night (I sleep in the wood at every opportunity) and tell me that your heart wasn't pounding.
For me this is the most exciting development in our natural history today. I am quite obviously not the man to record it but maybe you know a man who can.
My best regards
Colin

Great initiative, I would love to see a Barn Owl Cam set up, I do what I can for the declining Barn Owl population such as selling Prints of Barn Owl in the Wild and using proceeds to buy or make Barn Owl Nest boxes to place in safe rural havens to ensure we conserve this wonderful species.
I have some great locations if you need any.
Great Idea, Thanks
Rob
