Simon and I are planning to build up a selection of LIVE wildlife cameras from all over the world. Some will be set up and controlled by the Wildlife Whisperer team and others may be from Wildlife Whisperer members (email me if you are interested in your wildlife live cam featuring on our website).

We have several ideas for subjects for the live cams (e.g. nest box cam, bird feeder cams, badger cam etc.) but we would like to hear some of your ideas and suggestions too.

What wildlife would you like to see on a live cam? Try and think of something new, interesting and not necessarily attempted before and we'll do our best to set them up

Over to you guys....

Hmmm, for my first attempt - bee hive cam?

Or underwater pond cam(s)?
No idea if it would work, but a bat cam would be good.
Not sure if it hasn't already been done but an Otter holt
Brilliant idea.

Contact Andrew Cooper NHU producer, he has webcams all over his farm in Devon; Badgers sett cam, Barn Owls, Kestrels, Feeders and drinking areas all have their own webcam. He may even be able to set-up one for Cirl Buntings, now that would be different and cool!

As George has suggested, a Bat cam would be good! I like the sound of an Otter holt webcam, Charlie Hamilton James might be able to sort that for us maybe...

Oooooh goodie - I just love webcams. I can think of loads of creatures I would love to watch but many of them move about so much it would be difficult to have a cam on them :-(
But since Simon and Jason love a challenge, here's a few, not in any particular order:

Spider - (e.g. Nurseryweb, Segestria florentina, Labyrinth or even Wasp)
Great Skua nest
Rabbit/Rabbit warren
Fox - anything that can help improve their present reputation
Dolphin (I know a harbour wall where the dolphins regularly appear)
Dormouse nest
Lizard
Wasp nest
Mole
Bumble bee nest

Toki cam - or maybe pool or somewhere he sometimes visits - other wildlife would fill in the gaps ;-)
Vultures
Any of the small African wild cats

This is fun :-)
All this interest in bees why not a few more of our insect friends who get a little less view in the lime light of the telly - wasps or hornets would be ideal subjects (in that they build nests so are more easily captured on camera than some others).

If anyones after hornets we've got them in the loft at present!
Ahh! I know a lady who has Dormice webcams! Tee hee, glad your post reminded me, Gill. :-D

Our croft harbours about 500 rabbits, I could certainly help with that. Aaaah you should see the babies when they come out, you can hold them in the palm of your hand.
We have a fresh water pool thats formed with water coming from the local loch, its formed at low tide and was always good for otters to come and wash and drink and I have seen them there many times, but they seem a bit few and far between at the moment. That would have been a great place for an otter cam. They also had a rock which I called otter loo. Pity.
What a great project!

I agree with quite a few suggestions made so far already.
I'm afraid I get quite bored (almost) with many of the more popular animals shown on wildlife programmes - you know - deer, seals, dolphins, penguins, meerkats, big cats etc...

I would love this project to feature more obscure (or certainly less broadcast) animals - like bees (hives or solitary bees), wasps, ants, moles, etc...
That said, a live cam in a badger set or stoat den (or otter holt!) would be wonderful also.

But, if these cameras are to go around the world (and not just the UK) - how about thinking "outside the box" a little and trying for a live tropical reef cam (I know just the place!) or a live rainforest cam, or even a live bird of paradise nest cam? A live sloth cam (plenty of breakneck action there) or a live lemur cam in Madagascar. Most of these will be very difficult to get set up, I know!

As for birds - well I'd love my Swift cam to be shown (the quality of footage I was watching, unfortunately was far better than the feed to the web), a kingfisher burrow cam (best rope in Charlie and Phillipa then) or a short-eared owl cam.

So many things are racing through my mind!

Doug
All good Doug. Keep them coming!

Any idea, anywhere in the world. Maybe we can come up with one or two world firsts!
Go on then...
A caracal cam!
