Tripods and heads

Looking for a new camera support for my DSLR, so many versions out there but which one.

Last took a battering and lasted 20 years of hard use, a number times falling down mountain slopes when I have been out climbing in Scotland and Norway.

you don't say what sort of top load you are looking to support?
big heavy setup or minimum setup would help us to give impartial advise or suggestions!!!

big and heavy Gitzo 5541ls
small and light take your choice from hundreds..

At tne moment using Canon d7 and a new 500 f4 L is usm. Thinking about going full frame

I use a Kirk King Cobra head for my 500mm and I love it. Very robust yet not too heavy.
