According to reports from the Lincolnshire Bird Club, there are pairs of Peregrines in at least three locations: Louth, on St Wulfram's church in Grantham and on Lincoln Cathedral.Three out of four eggs laid by the Lincoln female have hatched, and all four eggs laid by the Grantham pair have hatched. At this time, I don't know the state of play of the Louth pair. Not bad for a county that is devoid of natural cliff faces! The use of tall church spires and towers as nest sites by Peregrines gives me hope that one day, a pair might nest on the very tall tower of my town's parish church, which is St Botolph's in Boston. This is perhaps more commonly known as the 'Boston Stump'! Couldn't make it up, could you?
