I've just about had enough of Bill & his Gates & at my age Microsoft has a whole new meaning!

Only ever eaten one big Mac in my life so decided it was time to have another but an iMac this time,

Less fat!  Less blocked arteries!

I just got fed up with updates from every Tom, Dick & Harriet & each one causing a fight with the others!

Anyone here using a Mac that wouldn't mind the occasional PM for advice?

You cant buy Final Cut Express now, and who would want to with iMovie. You can't buy Final Cut Pro 7 either, but you can buy FCP-X for about £200, but only essential if your video codec won't stand being edited in iMovie, e.g. Sony XDCAM.

If you buy Toast Titanium 11 (in order to produce Blu-Rays on a Mac) you'll get Photoshop Elements included for "free".

Try "MPEG Streamclip", useful fir producing MPEG 4s etc from Quicktime Movies etc and FREE.

FC Express no longer supported by Apple and a complete waste of money when you can buy FCP-X for £199 and get iMovie "free".

Blu-Ray taken off with those who want a portable HD storage/playback device, like me. Beats me how people still make DVDs by down-ressing HD content, even more so when one considers that all modern TVs will play a BD signal, and that a BD player, which also plays DVDs, can cost less than £100.

"Not here to argue". Mmmmm! you could've fooled me!

Yawn!

Oh Dear!

Why does discussion have to become an argument!!

I hate ego's!

Hi all,

Just a little confused where this thread has been going.  Dan, you seem to be referring Charles - did you mean Roger or have you perhaps put your posts in the wrong thread?

Ron, I don't know who you are referring to on your posts?

I'm sorry Roger that your thread has become disrupted - any more problems or strange disjointed posts and I will close the discussion.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me??

Hi Gill

I have been referring to Charles as he seems to have been the only one to reply initially on using Macs as this is what the thread has been about as both Roger and I have both recently bought a Mac and have been asking for advice on best way to use it. I may have replied in the wrong thread and apologies for that.

just looking for advice as i'm new to Mac- as for the other posts between Charles and Ron i couldn't comment.

Regards

Dan:)
