Explore the biodiversity of autumn and go hunting for bugs, bats and decay! We have a fantastic range of activities for children throughout October half term with a seasonal and Halloween theme.
Feed the big spider in her magical web! Draw something tasty for the spider to eat and stick it in the giant web in our Big Draw event . You can also make your own spider to take home.
Help Boris the bat find his friends in our new trail around the reserve.
Wetland CSI - an interactive whodunnit! Use your nature detective skills to solve the murder mystery. How did ducky die? Look at the clues and find out what the suspects were doing when the crime occurred.
Come along to our Halloween Party afternoon (Sunday 31 October) with fun games and storytelling. Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without the traditional magical method of transport: the broomstick! Make a broomstick or learn to how to protect yourself from bad spells. Children who come in fancy dress can win a prize for the best costume!

10.30 – 11.30 Spidery crafts
Make your own spider or join in the BIG DRAW and add some spider food to our sticky web. Colour and create badges, keyrings and fridge magnets.
Meet in the Tower (2nd floor). £1 to make a badge / keyring.
12.00 – 12.30 Great pond safari
Come pond dipping to discover the minibeasts who live under water in our wetlands.
Meet in the Pond Zone.
13.45 – 14.30 Wetland CSI
An interactive whodunnit. Use your forensic and tracking skills to find out how ducky died!
Meet in the courtyard .
15.00 – 15.30 Great pond safari (as above)
16.00 – 17.00 Spidery crafts (as above)
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
